Ziki (still in beta release) uses "tags" to help describe yourself, your background, your interests, etc - anything you'd like to tell others about yourself.
By tagging yourself and describing who you are, you make it easier for other Ziki members to find your profile. Tagging also enables Ziki to use these "common" interests or tags to suggest other members that you might like to meet -- you just have to click on a button and you get sent 10 Ziki profiles that are similar to yours.
My favorite feature is the Ziki RSS aggregater which gives you the ability to add feeds right to your Ziki page. This makes it really simple to manage and share all your digital content e.g. blog posts, pictures, videos, links and recommendations.
Ziki claims to be the first "open social network" connecting people base on who they are...so far so good!
